Clifton Street Float Bridge
The Clifton Street Float Bridge was a lift device that would facilitate offloading Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) train cars onto waiting ferries that could float them over to Whetstone Point (now Locust Point) by water. This interchanged between rail and car floats saved trains from making the circuitous trip to get to Locust Point when traveling from the north.
