Domino Sugar Sign

The Domino Sugar sign has been a part of Baltimore's skyline for over 70 years. It was originally constructed by Artkraft Strauss Co. and has since become an iconic symbol of the city's industrial heritage. Although the sign was briefly unplugged during the 1970s energy crisis, it has remained a beloved landmark. Recently, Domino Sugar turned to Gable to refresh the sign. The company discovered that significant portions of the steel letters were rusted and eroding, and the steel frame needed repairs. Gable used SloanLED's FlexiBRITE Citrus Orange flexible LED tubing for the new lighting, which is brighter and clearer than before while consuming significantly less energy. The new sign made its debut at Domino Sugar's Fourth of July celebration and coincided with the refinery's one-hundredth anniversary. The residents of Baltimore were thrilled to have their favorite landmark back.
